Along with winter (which I'm still waiting for), December brings with it a joyous spirit all around. Warm clothes and blankets get a chance to shake the dust off them. And everyone is looking forward to that christmas holiday for a well deserved break from work. The mood for celebration is setting in... :) 

Its festive!!

Hello after a very long time...so its the festival of lights (and family gatherings, mouth watering delicacies, bursting crackers, catching up with friends and being home), a time of the year I most look forward to. Warm wishes to you this joyous season. 

Orange?

These days I'm going crazy doing tutorials from the web. I came across one and made this orange (doesn't look like one much) in photoshop. But I was quite happy with myself!!

Bites

Mosquitoes are a menace!! Everywhere!! But here's the other side. To the species where only females drink...Cheers!!! (Quick scribbles while trying to complete work with one hand and swatting the pests with another.)

I was taking an Italian language class and unfortunately it has come to an end. Learning a new language was always interesting and Italian was a lot of fun! Here's a quick card I made to thank my teacher.

Tried watercolour on handmade paper long back, from some ' learn how to do watercolour' book. Don't remember the name exactly.

Being in the land where making coffee is not a daily routine but an art to be mastered has influenced me it seems! The aroma of freshly brewed coffee comes wafting through the air and hits you on every street corner, tempting you for a cup.

It's my friend Nitasha's birthday, whom we fondly call nuts because that's what she is...NUTS!!
Well, I wasn't there to celebrate her day and missed her terribly. But thanks to technology, I could see her, hear her laugh and talk to her! Happy Birthday Nutsy!!

Blunder

This is what a new language can do to you. I was all excited for the new class on Monday. I even reached on time despite all delays. As the class started, I tried making sense of the lecture going on in Italian. Diligently I copied notes from the presentation so I could translate and read them later. I realised there was a lot of reference to 'space' and 'architecture' but I didn't deny the possibility of the connection it had with graphic design. As I got talking to the students in the break...lightning struck!!! All this while I was sitting in an interior design class, not meant for me. Well, blunders happen...

Books

Ever since we were taught to bind books ourselves, I've been trying to find time and make some for myself. I bought handmade paper and made some illustrations for the covers. I also tried printing on different kinds of paper for the covers. Making the books proved to be a good break and I had gifts for friends and family (I don't have any left with me). So for myself...I've to find time again.

Uttarayan

Uttarayan is celebrated in a big way in Gujarat. For two days, the horizon is made up of people crammed on their terraces and the sky specked with countless colourful kites. Shouting, celebration and the spirit of competition add to the frenzy. Even the nightfall does not deter these people from flying kites. In fact, it is a delight to watch the night sky. Along with the stars will shine little lamps attached to the kite strings, struggling against the winds. It is simply...beautiful!
